I have noticed several times in my life that I have a difficult time sticking to things in general. However, I have also accomplished some major things in my life that required sticking to it.
I have:
- graduated from college
- gotten and stayed married
- bought a house
- worked myself up to a real career
So those are major things. What about the rest?
For example, I tend not to:
- stay focused on being consistent and happy
- constistently take care of the yard
- keep certain areas in my house clean
- stick to a business idea and follow through
- stick to a budget
So maybe I only complete goals related to major things in my life. Perhaps seemingly simple things fall through the cracks in my fingers.
Why is this?
I believe that the number one most important thing for a person who suffers an illness like mine is to learn to manage their thoughts and actions.
What is success to me?
I think it should be that I am stable and consistent (stick to things). If I can do that I can do anything. Since my diagnosis I have not been stable or consistent. So this is and has been my next major life goal.
There are no shortcuts that work. I have tried skipping this goal and going to other goals. I never stick with it.
I think I just need to learn how to stick with it to be able to move on and do some amazing things.
Now that is sticky.

You HAVE accomplished a lot that should make you proud! My goal, as simple as it sounds, is to feel "okay". It's so much better than just being "okay" sounds - everything else just seems to fall into place, you know?
Sounds like you've got a lot going for you, and good luck on the job front! Life is too short to stay in a job that makes you unhappy.
I agree with KS. But if you figure out how to take it to the next level, let us all know.
Clearly you have an all access pass into my brain. these are the very thoughts I think. With all my success, there are still simple, basic things that I cannot mater.
Will I ever master them?
Am I to master them?
